Social Bookmarking: Umstieg auf Diigo

Ich dürfte an der einen oder anderen Stelle bestimmt schon angemerkt haben, dass ich Del.icio.us zur Archivierung meiner Bookmarks verwende. Gerade die einfache Struktur, die große Userzahl und das Tagging-System (damals standen Dienste zur Auswahl, die Kategorien verwendeten) überzeugten mich.

Die aufmerksamen Leser/-innen dürften aber bemerkt haben, dass seit dem Update des Webberichts wöchtenliche Linkshows sowie eine Tag-Cloud in der Sidebar von Diigo auf diesen Seiten zu finden sind. Wie kommt das?

Ganz einfach, ich wechselte klammheimlich zu Diigo über. Nicht unbedingt, weil ich mit Del.icio.us unzufrieden war, sondern da Diigo einige zusätzlichen Funktionen bietet und darüber hinaus optional alle neuen Booksmarks ebenfalls bei Del.icio.us speichert.

Darüber hinaus bietet Diigo zahlreiche Gruppen an, die den Linkaustausch beleben. Negativ ist mir allerdings die Stabilität des Dienstes aufgefallen. In den paar Wochen, in denen ich nun Diigo nutze hatte ich schon mehrfach Ausfälle, auch wenn es sich dabei teilweise um Updates oder Wartungen handelt. Wenn man aber seine Linkarchivierung rein online gestaltet, sind solche Ausfallzeiten sehr ärgerlich. Um so positiver fällt die doppelte Speicherung der Links auf (Diigo und Del.icio.us parallel), da man hier ein Backup und eine Absicherung im Falle eines Ausfalls hat.

Aus meiner Sicht kann ich trotz der Ausfälle eine klare Empfehlung für Diigo aussprechen und man muss dabei noch nicht mal Del.icio.us untreu zu werden ;)
