Bedauerlicherweise bin ich zu dem Zeitpunkt in Nürnberg. Hoffentlich klappt es irgendwann einmal mit der Aufzeichnung der Vorträge, so dass diese im Nachgang verfügbar sind.

So kam es, dass ich mit dem Google Reader liebäugelte. Der Umstieg war einfach, da ich meine opml-Liste einfach importieren konnte. Erst hatte ich Google Reader und Omea im Parallelbetrieb, also auf dem einen Rechner verwendete ich Google Reader und auf dem anderen Omea. Das war natürlich auch nicht wirklich praktikabel, da man dann zwei Systeme pflegen musste. Nachdem ich den Artikel von Marcel Weiß Feeds effizient managen: Pimp my GoogleReader gelesen habe, habe ich mich dazu entschlossen auf Google Reader komplett umzusteigen.

Erst bei der Arbeit mit Google Reader habe ich dessen Vorteile gegen dem Omea Reader entdeckt. Neben der Tatsache, dass der Google Reader im Prinzip von überall mit einem Onlinezugang aufgerufen werden kann, werden Feeds und Artikels mittels Tags sortiert (auch wenn die Doppelbezeichnung von Ordnern und Tags verwirrend ist), was eine bessere Einordnung der Feeds erlaubt. Neu war mir auch, dass man mit Google Gears die Artikel auch offline verfügbar machen kann (siehe hier). Zu beachten ist hier aber, dass dafür “English” als Sprache gewählt sein muss, da bei der deutsprachigen Oberfläche die entsprechende Option nicht zur Verfügung steht.

Besser wurde alles noch nach dem Artikel Wie ich über 300 Feeds lese, der im Grunde einfache, aber hilfreiche Hinweise zur Organisation von RSS-Feeds gab. So banal, dass ich vor dem Lesen nicht darauf kam An dieser Stelle einen herzlichen Dank an Marcel.

Weiter kann man mit dem Reader Artikel empfehlen und als RSS-Feed ausgeben oder Artikel anderen zumailen. Die Trendanalyse hilft mir dabei radikal meine RSS-Feeds auszumisten, indem sie mir vor Augen führt, was ich eigentlich regelmäßig lese und was einfach liegen bleibt.

Es gibt zwar immer noch so ein paar Macken, so bin ich mit der Suchfunktion nicht wirklich zufrieden, aber im Großen und Ganzen bereue ich den Umstieg nicht und kann die Verwendung des Readers (wenn man mal von den Datenschutzdiskussionen rund um Google absieht) bedenkenlos jedem empfehlen.

Über YouTube stieß ich zufällig auf ihre Werke und entdeckte, dass auf ihrer Webseite ein paar Videos mehr (in besserer Qualität) verfügbar sind. Darüber hinaus kann der geneigte Besucher zusätzlich noch Wallpapers und Icons runterladen oder im Onlineshop stöbern. Ein Besuch lohnt sich also!

Wie beschreiben sich die Künstler selbst bei Jamendo?

Botany Bay are a Germany based alternative pop project, consisting mainly of Stephan Kleinert (instruments, programming) and Laura Dietrich (lead vocals, keyboards), playing an organic mixture of world music, experimental pop and rock, augmented with classical arrangements and free-form improvisation.

In October 2007, Laura and Stephan released their current album “Grounded”, which they recorded in a period of over four years and with the help of numerous guest musicians. Although “Grounded” doesn’t tell a continuous story, it is a concept album in the sense that all tracks are connected to each other thematically and/or musically.

Grounded ist ein durch und durch gelungenes Album und ich bin mal gespannt, was noch so kommen wird!

Meiner Meinung nach ein interessantes Thema. Wer noch kein Mitglied der Gilde ist und sich für eLearning interessiert wird eine kostenlose Mitgliedschaft nahe gelegt, da man so an verschiedenen Seminaren teilnehmen kann und diverse Materialien kostenlos downloaden kann.

Anmelden kann man sich hier. Aber Achtung: Es gibt “nur” 400 Plätze.

Die ersten beiden Vorträge (Joe Welinske – ‘Overview of the Convergence of UA and e-Learning’ und Alan Houser – ‘Structured Authoring and DITA’)waren recht toolorientiert. Man könnte sie wie folgt zusammenfassen:

• UA Tools und Grundlagen können sinnvoll für eLearning sein
• Es ist sinnvoll sich nach Standards, wie DITA zu richten
• Es empfiehlt sich Content und Style zu trennen

Pragmatischer dagegen war der Vortrag von Rob Houser ‘UA Content that Improves Performance’. Wenn man also den Vierstunden Marathon verkürzen will, sollte man sich auf diesen Vortrag beschränken.

Auf der oben stehende Seite ist mittlerweile die Aufzeichung des Webseminars und die dazugehörigen Handouts verfügbar.

Themenschwerpunkte des EduCamps sind u.a. “Corporate E-Learning 2.0″ und “E-Learning 2.0 in der Hochschullehre”. Weitere Themen werden z.B. “E-Portfolios” oder “Digitale Spiele und Virtuelle Welten” im Bildungseinsatz sein. Basierend auf dem Konzept eines BarCamps ist jeder Teilnehmer aufgefordert, ein eigenes Thema mitzubringen, über das er gerne referieren bzw. diskutieren möchte. Franz Patzig, einer der Hauptorganisatoren bisheriger BarCamps in Deutschland, beschreibt dies als “Mitmach”-Konferenz, bei der sich der Tagesplan erst vor Ort durch kurze Vorstellung des eigenen Themas und anschließende Belegung der vordefinierten Zeitfenster ergibt. Ein kollaboratives “Geben” und “Nehmen” entsteht. Angedacht sind dabei sowohl Vorträge, Workshops und Diskussionsrunden als auch andere Methoden des wissenschaftlichen Austausches, die von den Teilnehmern gerne als Ideen eingebracht werden können.

Es sollte vielleicht angemerkt werden, dass die Veranstaltung am Wochenende stattfindet und zudem kostenlos ist. Sollten nicht andere Termine dazwischen kommen, werde ich auf jeden Fall dabei sein. Private Termine sind leider dazwischen gekommen, so dass ich leider nicht teilnehmen kann. Vielleicht ein anderes Mal..

Die aufmerksamen Leser/-innen dürften aber bemerkt haben, dass seit dem Update des Webberichts wöchtenliche Linkshows sowie eine Tag-Cloud in der Sidebar von Diigo auf diesen Seiten zu finden sind. Wie kommt das?

Ganz einfach, ich wechselte klammheimlich zu Diigo über. Nicht unbedingt, weil ich mit Del.icio.us unzufrieden war, sondern da Diigo einige zusätzlichen Funktionen bietet und darüber hinaus optional alle neuen Booksmarks ebenfalls bei Del.icio.us speichert.

Darüber hinaus bietet Diigo zahlreiche Gruppen an, die den Linkaustausch beleben. Negativ ist mir allerdings die Stabilität des Dienstes aufgefallen. In den paar Wochen, in denen ich nun Diigo nutze hatte ich schon mehrfach Ausfälle, auch wenn es sich dabei teilweise um Updates oder Wartungen handelt. Wenn man aber seine Linkarchivierung rein online gestaltet, sind solche Ausfallzeiten sehr ärgerlich. Um so positiver fällt die doppelte Speicherung der Links auf (Diigo und Del.icio.us parallel), da man hier ein Backup und eine Absicherung im Falle eines Ausfalls hat.

Aus meiner Sicht kann ich trotz der Ausfälle eine klare Empfehlung für Diigo aussprechen und man muss dabei noch nicht mal Del.icio.us untreu zu werden

Und so entdeckte ich mal wieder eine “neue” Band für mich: Air.
